One of the most formidable weapon of the devil forged against the believer is the weapon of anxiety. Anxiety paralyzes Vision, Stimulates depression and is responsible for most silly mistakes believers make.
God’s word is however very clear on anxiety, “Be anxious for nothing” (Phil.4:6), in other words, no situation should warrant anxiety from a believer. This situation is however not true for many well meaning and sincere believers, so many are falling victim to the scourge of anxiety daily, from the anxiety of marriage, which includes, when will I marry? I am not getting younger, everybody is getting married , is anything wrong with me and so on, to the Anxiety of getting a good Job ; When will I find a good job?
The truth is Jesus knows about all these things and his answer is simple ; do not get worried about all these things, your Father knows about these issues, and he has provided all the solution before you were ever born, your job is to walk alongside with him and make him your primary concern as he makes all things beautiful in his own time.
One major cause of anxiety I have observed is the spirit of comparison, which is unbiblical. Most people put themselves under needless tensions because of comparison with friends and loved ones, as a result of this, many have made wrong decisions that has eternal consequences, many have eternal regrets because of just a little patience they can’t have. Bishop Oyedepo once said God told him, your times are in my hands and not your hands, and he makes all things beautiful in his time, since we don’t determine times and seasons then the wisest decision we can make is to be anxious for nothing. Anxiety leads to frustration, it buries many glorious destinies, my counsel therefore is wait on God for as long as he desires you to, he has everything about your life sorted out, and he is never late.
God’s Word declares ” he that believeth does not make haste ” ( Ish.28:16). Whatever is ours will truly be ours as we stay in faith, it can never elude us. God is working out the whole equation for our good.
