Texas girl’s inoperable brain tumor has disappeared, and her parents are giving all the credit to God

Roxli Doss, now 11, was diagnosed in June with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a brain tumor that is inoperable and has no cure, KVUE reported. The cancer starts in the brain stem and spreads. Survival rates are low.

“[The type of cancer] is very rare, but when we see it, it is a devastating disease,” her doctor, Virginia Harrod with Dell Children’s Medical Center, told the television station. “You have decreased ability to swallow, sometimes vision loss, decreased ability to talk, eventually difficulty with breathing.”

Although there is no cure, Roxli underwent radiation treatment, which can provide a temporary shrinking of the tumor. Roxli’s family and community also prayed.

During her next MRI scan, the tumor was gone.

“When I first saw Roxli’s MRI scan, it was actually unbelievable,” Harrod said. “The tumor is undetectable on the MRI scan, which is really unusual.”

Her doctor has no explanation for what happened, KVUE reported. Doctors double checked the scan but still couldn’t find the tumor.

Roxli’s parents say God healed her.

“Everyday we still say it,” said her mom, Gena Doss. “It’s kind of our family thing that God healed Roxli.”
