Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. In Exodus 30, God gave Moses the prescription for the production of the anointing oil. One of the components of the anointing oil in bible times, was myrrh. Myrrh has preservative properties. So when Solomon was anointed with the oil from the tabernacle, he was anointed with the oil of preservation.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you are anointed with the oil of preservation, and you will be preserved. You are preserved from the wiles of the wicked. You are preserved from the arrows that fly by day and the terrors that fly by night. You are preserved from the wickedness of the wicked. You are preserved from the attacks against your destiny. You are preserved from the tragedies that swallow the lives of men.
Solomon was about to become king, and God ordered that he be anointed with the oil of preservation. Hear me as I hear the Lord: as you rise to your high places, you will be preserved. Powers that swallow men when they have attained their thrones and worn their crowns, will not swallow you. Powers that destroy great men will not destroy you. Powers that cut short the lives of great men, will not cut short your own life.
I pray for you: as the year gradually comes to an end, you will be preserved. As you navigate through your end of year activities, you will be preserved. As you step into 2024, you will be preserved. As you push forward in your rising, you will be preserved. As you move from great to very great, you will be preserved. As you move forward and rise higher, you will be preserved. As you occupy new thrones and wear new crowns, you will be preserved.
You may seem vulnerable in the eyes of those who have no idea that you have a divine backing. You may seem vulnerable, but you are divinely preserved.
