[NEWS] COVENANT UNIVERSITY RANKED 301+ IN THE WORLD

It seems strange but it is real. The power of the vision has worked yet another wonder in the life of West Africa’s best University, Covenant as she on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, recorded an awe-inspiring milestone by emerging in the 301+ bracket in the 2019 Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings.

Interestingly, the rankings was the first of its kind by the renowned world universities ranking body.

According to the THE, “University Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach, and stewardship”.

In the first edition of the rankings, which included more than 450 universities from 76 countries, Covenant was the only Nigerian private University on the log.

Covenant’s 301+ ranking was based on her scaled and pre-rounded performance on Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnership for the Goals and her top three SDGs. These included the SDG 4 (Quality Education); SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions); and SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing).

Aside the aforesaid, Covenant has also been ranked in the following Sustainable Development Goal rankings. The University was ranked 301+ in SDG 5 (Gender Equality); 201+ in SDG 8 (Decent and Economic Growth); 201-300 in SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure); SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities); 201+ in SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities); SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production; AND SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Making it into the University Impact Rankings was another remarkable feat for Covenant, which between September 2018 and now – a period that has yielded the University arguably an unprecedented harvest of global recognitions – had once again validated the power of the Visionary Institution in the quest of the University becoming one of the top 10 universities in the world in a few years’ time.

To God be the Glory
