If anyone understands the power of forgiveness, it’s Richard Powell. Drug addiction led to multiple arrests. By age 18, he was a convicted felon. In 2016, he stopped running from the call of God and surrendered his life to Jesus. That decision changed everything. Today, he is a 2018 Rhema Bible Training College graduate, successful owner of a roofing company, and a happily married newlywed.
When Richard and Kelly were planning their wedding, they wanted it to be a demonstration of God’s love. They knew about Rhema Correspondence Bible School’s Adopt an Inmate program and had sponsored a female inmate when the program was first announced. The couple wanted to continue spreading God’s love to those who are incarcerated. So instead of giving away party favors at their reception,they used the money to sponsor a man in prison.
