This is one of the things that can limit you from achieving the vision of God for your life.
Psalm 1:1-3 -Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Don’t associate with people that are going nowhere because it is not everybody at the airport that are travelling. As a pastor, it is not every pastor that should be your friend. The company you keep determines what accompanies you. If you follow a man that is not travelling, you will miss your flight.
If you want to be a great visionary in life, mind who you associate yourself with because iron sharpeneth iron; there is no day that a wood will sharpen an iron.
One thing with association is that it is either adding something to your life or it is taking something away from you; it can never leave you neutral.
1Cor.5:11 -But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
This means that everybody even in your church must not be your friend; friendship is not by force but by choice. Twenty children don’t play together for twenty years.
Prov.13:20 -He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
If you want to be a visionary, you should relate with people who can take you to the next level. You should help those you are better than but associate with those who are at the top if you want to be at the top so you can reason at the same level; it is not pride.
A friend is one who has 50% of your character; so chose your friend wisely. The bottom is crowded and the top is for selected people. As a visionary, even if you are eating from hand to mouth now, you should not reason as one living from hand to mouth; you reason like a wealthy person.
God gave Jesus a vision and also made sure that His vision came to reality. Hence, you must put your vision into action. Give a set target for your vision because when your vision time passes, it becomes a dead program. After setting time for your vision, pursue it because it is only action that makes a vision a reality.
Hab.2:1-3. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
1 Cor.9:24 – Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Don’t give up in your pursuit of vision because quitters never win and winners never quit. Keep pressing tirelessly and sacrificially until it delivers. It is time to take a majestic ride as a visionary here on earth. The world is waiting for you.
