TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: PS 138 – 142.
TOPIC: THE MAN IN THE STORM 4.
TEXT: “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27 :17.
The associations of a man going through a storm matters a great deal if he is to enjoy victory over the storm.
How can a man be in a relationship with an agent of the devil and expect to come out of the storms of life fired at him by the devil?
Such a person would have his battles prolonged because all of his efforts would be frustrated.
There are people you should not associate with. Some of these are those who discourage you from praying and fasting. Some may tell you that you are losing weight, thereby wearying you.
If I may ask, what profit have you generated with all the weight you gathered? Whoever speaks negatively against your spiritual exercise is against your destiny; do not keep such people close.
Only those who charge up your spiritual life and challenge you positively in the things of God should be your friends.
Daniel had kingdom-minded, prayers-conscious friends. Their lives were outstanding examples in the Bible of what prayer can do. In Daniel chapter 2, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and demanded an interpretation which no one could provide so he commanded that all the wise men in Babylon be destroyed.
Daniel then, requested time from the king to give him an interpretation. As soon as he was granted, he went to the company of his praying friends, his prayer partners, those whose hearts are committed to praying about an issue till something happened (Daniel 2 :17 – 18).
And when they prayed, the secret was revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. When you move with the right company and people who boost your spiritual life, your expectations manifest speedily.
