In our Focal Scripture, the wise men spoke of how they had seen the star of Jesus in the east. Remarkably, they were the only ones whom the bible recorded that saw the star of Jesus. So the star of Jesus was seen by the wise. Some people simply did not have the wisdom to see and discern the star of Jesus. Some people did not have the sense to discern the star of Jesus. Some people were not wise enough to see and notice the star of Jesus.
Friend, if truly you have become a star, then note that not everyone will be wise enough to notice and discern the star in you. Not everyone will be wise enough to see who God has made you. Not everyone will see the greatness in your actions and choices. Not everyone will appreciate the wisdom and capacity that God has planted in you. Not everyone will be gracious to know that you have left mediocrity and entered the realm of excellence.
Notice that the star of Jesus did not go about explaining to people who could not discern. It didn’t need the validation of anyone to remain a star. Stop seeking validation from those who do not have the wisdom to appreciate whom God has made you. Never try to win the approval of people who lack wisdom. Never insist on being understood by those who do not have the wisdom and right mind to understand you.
No matter how hard you try, you will still remain a nobody to somebody. There will always be people who do not have the nerve to understand or deal with your greatness. There will always be people who may encourage you but will never celebrate you. There will always be people who will refuse to validate you even if the whole world did. There will always be that greater majority that cares less about your emergence.
Be content with a minority that recognizes your star, and a majority that may never discern same. It was so for Jesus. It may be same for you.
