Warning is not your enemy but your friend
If you look at the dashboard of your vehicle, you see a lot of indicators, your tire is going down, it gives you warning, you don’t get angry with it, fuel gauge maybe showing indicator, if you are wise you stop at the fuel station if not there’s shame
When you ignore warning, you end in danger, prophetic warning is not to scare us but to save us
Ezekiel 3:18
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
We must wake up, the church must wake up
We must avoid replacing the fire and the fan with fun
Please let’s be sober and examine our heart
Revelation 2:3
3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Matthew 9:30
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
Prayer
You will not miss eternity!
Why this prophetic warning?
1. It is to sound an alarm on spiritual slumber
An idle man is Satan’s workshops
Joel 2:1
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2. To maintain the content of our faith
3. To prevent us from a life of iniquity
What is repentance?
This means to feel deep remorse when one falls
1John 1:6-10
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
EXAMINATION OF THE CHURCHES
1. Ephesus Church
Revelation 2:5
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
When you first meet Jesus, how zealous were you?
Where did you fall?
What do you normally do spiritually that you no longer do again?
Repent, turn away from evil back to God.
Revelations 2:16
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
2. The church of Smyrna
What sustains the church is the word, we need to get back to word feast
Revelation 2:8-10
8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
3. The church of Pergamos
Revelation 2:12-17
12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Numbers 23:5
5 And the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.
A church that does not fight iniquity will soon become a fallen church
Sin bed always end as sick bed, toy with sin and the enemy will use you like a toy, repent!
4. The church of Thyatira
Revelation 2:21-22
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
5. The church of Sardis
Revelation 3:3
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
6. The church of Philadelphia
Revelation 3:11
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Hold fast your faith, don’t join those toying with faith
Sin is targeting your crown, it’s not just pleasure
7. The church of Laodicea
Revelation 3:19
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Zeal is the cure for coldness. When you are hot, Satan cannot hurt
The danger of not repenting is that God turns away from you.
Do not at any time keep unrepentant sin in your heart and be quick to repent.
Even when you are tempted in your heart, you need to repent because thoughts grow into action if you don’t stop it
Repentance always results into mercy which brings the blood to cleanse us
Instant repentance will bring instant forgiveness, which will bring instant renewal that tuns to continuity in the faith
