It was much easier for God to make Pharaoh let the children of Isreal go, than it was for him to get the mentality of Egypt out of the minds of the Israelites. It was so difficult to change their mind set, for this reason, majority of those with the mentality of slavery in Egypt died in the wilderness, before they got to the promise land. They always wanted to go back to what they were familiar with, at the slightest challenge in the wilderness.
Lesson: We are more comfortable with what we are familiar with, but our familiarity with what we are used to is not a proof of safety. It only creates a mind set of safety. What God is doing is always better than what he has done. Instead of thinking of resuming back to “normal” let us begin to look forward to “normal”. being conformed is the greatest limitation to being transformed. Break out of the limitations of your mind and see every new thing that God is about to do or is doing as the new normal. Familiarity is not the prove of normalcy, familiarity is our greatest limitation to new realities.
The gospel is a genre of music, the gospel is a message.
