UNCOVERING THE ROOT OF FAITH THAT WORKS || BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO

covenant day of settlement

It’s often said that faith is fake if it lacks proof.
The authentication of faith is the manifestation of God’s power.
When faith comes alive victory is assured.

1 Jn. 5:4
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith

The faith that works has The Word at its taproot, the Word is the Anchor of working faith.

WHAT IS FAITH?

Faith is a living Force drawn from the living word to produce living proofs.

Lk 8:40.
40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

It is the spirited word that delivers results to us.

John 6:63.

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

A woman was looking for quickened words as she searches the scriptures for healing her foot. And by the spirited word she received the verdicts of the doctor were canceled.

The heart is the platform from where faith operates.

Until you win the battle within, you are not a candidate for victory on the outside. – Matt. 9:22,29

1 Sam. 1:13

13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

Faith is putting God’s word to work believing. The word received is a seed, sowing it is acting on it.

It is sharing responsibility with God to deliver your desired results.

John 9:7

7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

John 21:6.

6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

A believer that is not committed to what is written in the Word cannot develop faith.

ATTRIBUTES OF FAITH THAT WORKS

Fear Of God-Rooted Faith. Acts 10:34-25 || Prov. 8:13

2 Tim 2:19.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Prov. 9:10

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Tolerance for evil is symbolic of fear of God-rooted faith.

Case study of fear of God rooted Faith:
Paul.

1 Thes 2:10.

10 Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

When a man is walking in the fear of God he fares well in life.

Daniel.

Daniel 6:23

23 Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

Heart- Rooted Faith.

Mark 11:23.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

This is faith that makes no room for doubt.

Dedication-Rooted Faith.

John 12:24-26.

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

When your faith is deeply rooted in dedication your faith naturally delivers.

Bold-Speaking Faith.

Acts 4:13.

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

When faith is silenced faith is silent, the faith that you do not speak is the faith that does not work. Until sounds go forth, signs do not work. it takes speaking faith to be victorious.

Acts 14:3

3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

This is the faith of God that calleth the things that be not as though they were. When you speak, Angels will pick and God will Speak.

Acts 14:3, 2 Cor 4:13.

There is a demand for bold speaking to see desired results.

Ps. 81:12

12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

Testimony-provoked Faith. Rev. 19:10.

Ps. 119:111.

111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

Testimonies are prophetic in nature, powerful, and able to reproduce themselves in the lives of those that believe. Every testimony of the scripture is a pointer to the faithfulness of God. If God has done it before, he will do it again. One testimony triggers the faith of many.

Mt. 14:36.

36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

It Never Gives Up, it Ever-winning Faith.

Abraham kept following and never gave up.

Daniel:

Daniel 6:4.

4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

Lk.9:62

62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Heb 10:38, Heb. 6:12, Rom 4:20.

Kenneth E. Hagin said “Those who decide that they would be unmoved forever standing on their faith would discover that their faith would not take forever to deliver”.

When you refuse to give up satan will give up. In the precious name of Jesus, no more breakdown in your walk with God.

Resilient faith. – Luke 9:62

Heb. 10:38

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
