Towards Maximizing Our Glorious Destiny in Christ | Bishop David Oyedepo| (Part 2A) | 9th June, 2024

Introduction
Every prophetic instruction is a test ordained to grant you access to your next class. Only those who pass it, change class.

“And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.”
“And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”
“And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.”
“Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.” Genesis 22:1 – 4.

Every one of God’s commandments is to move us forward. No believer goes forward sitting down but by taking steps. Also, we move forward by delightsome and prompt obedience to God’s instructions.
We are not redeemed into a world of uncertainty; every child of God is a child of destiny.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29.

We are called unto glory and honour, not unto shame and reproach!
We are redeemed to be glorified and not to experience shame!

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3.

Shame and reproach are not our portion in Christ. The best way to get reproach and shame off your life is to go outside the gate and bear His reproach by winning souls.
God’s honour is not premised on people. You don’t need anybody’s opinion; just serve God and you will see Him decorate your life. When God honors a man no witch or wizard can dishonour him. You don’t need any uncle or cousin to scale greater heights, have God.
To scale the utmost height in life, you must not play games with God it never works!
Destiny is not whatever will happen will happen but a discovery of what God has pre-ordained. Destiny is not a prediction but a discovery of what God had made of you and me in the kingdom.

Destiny in the kingdom is not about “whatever happens” or “what will be, will be;” it is a discovery of what God has ordained you to be in redemption.

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:10.
“And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.” Exodus 7:1.

Where you live is not destiny; destiny is locating where you should be.
You need a sense of destiny to make the most of your adventure in Christ.

Every child of God is a product of divine predestination; we need a sense of destiny to make the most of our lives.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”
“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,” Ephesians 1:3 – 5.

Destiny is not a destination but an adventure.

“And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:”
“For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.” Genesis 13:14 – 15.

Every encounter with the Word brings a change of level from glory to glory.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.
“And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.” Luke 24:31.

By redemption, we have the most elastic destiny in Christ because the path of the shines brighter until the perfect day.

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Proverbs 4:18.
“Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.”
“Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:” Exodus 19:4 – 5.

We have a mountain-top destiny in Christ, which answers to walking in the covenant.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matthew 5:14.
“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.” Galatians 4:28.

You can’t be mediocre if you get to know God and His covenant. Live in the reality of your future based on the picture from the scriptures

Your Destiny from the Mirror of the Scriptures

You have a mountaintop destiny in Christ.

You have been redeemed as a king, you cannot die as a peasant.

You have been redeemed to be above, you cannot remain beneath.

You have an enviable destiny in Christ.

You are not to be pitied but to be envied.

You have been ordained to enjoy an enviable destiny. The Proofs of Salvation
Salvation is what makes a child of destiny. How do I know I’m saved? Scriptures say by their fruit we shall know them.
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:20.
The fruit of the spirit is the proof of salvation.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” Galatians 5:22.
The fruit of the Spirit is a collection of spiritual virtues that should manifest in your life physically if you are saved.
1.The peace that passes all knowledge.
When you’re saved the peace of God settles in you. Peace is one of the foremost evidence of salvation.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6.

When our peace is fully in place God takes over our battle.

“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:14.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10.

As a believer, God takes over your battles on the platform of His peace in you.
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7.

2. Patience:
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews 6:12.
It takes Word-based patience to maximise your glorious destiny in Christ.
Faith without patience ends up in crisis. You will never lose your peace if you go at God’s pace.

“And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:15.

Every seed has a gestation period, it’s important to learn patience so as not to end up a patient because it takes patience to maximise our destiny.
All the elements of the fruit of the spirit are to help us enjoy the blessedness of salvation.

3.Through supernatural rescue from the works of the flesh

“Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.” Isaiah 52:11.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
“And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:17 – 18.

Whatever is not clean is unclean.

“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” 1 John 3:15.
When hatred is unchecked it degenerates into bitterness but when one is saved he is set free.

Keys to Realizing Your Glorious Destiny in Christ
1. Be Spiritual
“Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” Daniel 6:4.

The fear of God entitles the believer to favour and it prolongs days. Those who fear God, fare well in life.

2 . Engage the Holy Spirit in your quest for spiritual understanding.
It takes the holy ghost to experience an outburst of revelation.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.

The brighter you see, the faster the delivery rate of your colourful destiny. No one ever arrives at a future he cannot see. Joseph was sure of a future, he was king in prison before he was enthroned in the Palace.
The bible is the believer’s dream book, and we draw as far as our eyes can see.
“And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:” Isaiah 29:11.
The plan is set for our discovery!
Non-discovery of our future has kept us in the same spot!
Everything concerning us is in the book waiting for our discovery.

“And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,” Luke 4:17.

Encounter with Destiny Ministration
The Word opens you up to the future that awaits you as a child of God. Locate for yourself God’s plans to not be a wanderer. There’s always the temptation to drift from one’s appointed place.
Ask God for direction before jumping from one business to another or one country to another. Don’t lean on your understanding, it’s too short.

“And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.” Isaiah 48:21.
“If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” Job 14:14.

God’s plan and purpose for the redeemed are contained in the book called the Bible. The Bible is the believers’ dream book; it is God’s vision bank and you only draw from it as far as your eyes can see. The plan is in place and it’s waiting for your discovery. Everything about the believer is in the book; how much have you discovered?
Every encounter with the Word is an encounter with destiny.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.
Every true encounter changes your life from one level of glory to another. Locate yourself in God’s master plan, and stay on so you don’t become a wanderer.
“Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!”
When God leads you, you will be free from stress.

“As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.” Proverbs 27:8.
“Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.” Jude 1:13.

Only those on their God-ordained path will manifest their glorious destiny in Christ. Walking in the covenant is the key to a great future. Only those who walk in their God-ordained path will emerge with a glorious fulfilled destiny.

Destiny Re-alignment
Your destiny in Christ begins with salvation. If you want to be saved or rededicate your life to Christ, say this prayer in faith:
Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner, I cannot help myself. I know You died for me on the cross of Calvary and on the third day, You rose again. Jesus, come into my life, take control of me. From this day, I will follow You and serve You till the end. Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
