TOPIC: The Importance Of The Mind (Seeds Of Destiny 4 April 2024)
SCRIPTURE: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Life is lived inside-out, and not outside-in.
MESSAGE:
In our previous study, we saw that the battles of life are lost or won in the mind. Battles may be fought with physical weapons, but they are won from the mind. This means, you must have a winning mentality to experience a winning reality. The mind is critical to the physical victory of life.
In our study today, we shall explore further reasons why a believer’s mind is important.
i. Life is lived inside-out, and not outside-in (Psalm 23:7).
This means you cannot win in the mind and lose in life, and you cannot lose in the mind, and win in life. It is impossible! How you live in your mind reflects how you live in the world.
ii. The state of the mind affects the state of life.
A mad man is practically useless to society because his mind is sick. The state of your mind must surely affect the state of your life. This is the reason why Proverbs 4:23 says:
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
iii) The most critical target of enemy confrontation is the mind.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 reveals that enemy confrontations with unscriptural imaginations or unholy ideas that exalt themselves above the Word of God begin from the mind. Enemy confrontations with rebellious thoughts begin from the mind.
It is God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo who once said, “If you don’t cast down imaginations, imaginations will cast you down. If you don’t bring your thoughts into captivity, your thoughts will bring you into captivity.” And that will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
My counsel is, give attention to your mind. Renew your mind always with the Word of God.
REMEMBER THIS: Life is lived inside-out, and not outside-in.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Renew your mind daily with the Word of God.
Guard your heart. Do not allow unholy things to enter your mind through the gates of your ears and eyes.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace and discipline to see and hear only the things that will edify my life. Let the meditations of my heart be holy and acceptable before You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
