BIBLE READING: DEUTERONOMY 20-22.
TOPIC: THE PREVAILING WISDOM (PART 2).
TEXT: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy” James 3:17.
God’s wisdom works; it is the prevailing wisdom. In Genesis 26, the Bible records that there was a famine and people went down to Egypt, in search f greener pastures but Isaac hearkened to the wisdom of God and dwelt in Gerar. While others might have complained and given excuses for their inability to sow because of the famine, he laid hold of God’s wisdom and sowed in Gerar and received in the same year, a hundred fold increase and grew to become very great.
In another example in 1 Samuel 1:5, Hannah had been going to Shiloh annually with her family but a time came when the wisdom of God caused her to separate herself and pray fervently to God for a male child. By hearkening to that wisdom, she did not only become a mother of a notable prophet in Israel, God added five more children to her. Hallelujah!
In Genesis 30:31-43, Jacob manifesting God’s wisdom through an unusual insight, knew how to breed the king and colour of cattle that enabled him to overturn Laban’s gimmicks. Joseph became a voice in a strange land via the spirit of wisdom at work in him. Even Pharaoh knew that such a manifestation could only be by the Spirit of God. He said, “Can we find such a one as this is?” (Genesis 41:38).
Child of God, it is time for you to soar by the divine wisdom of God’s Spirit. As a child of God, your mind is alive and your spirit is able to receive illumination from above because it is linked with the Spirit of God. (Job 32:8.) What you receive from books and educational resources are facts and facts have no control over darkness. It is only the light on God that can subdue darkness.
