TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalms 7 – 9.

TOPIC: POTENCY OF THE ARK.

TEXT: “When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.”
1 Samuel 5 :2 – 3.

The ark of God is very potent; the presence of God is very powerful; whoever carries His presence crushes opposition cheaply.
The fact that the ark did not respond to the Israelites in power due to their sins, the Philistines carried the ark of the covenant to the house of Dagon to make a mockery of it.

The ark signifying the presence of God disfigured Dagon and destroyed the people of Ashdod and smote them with emerods, then the people cried out and the ark was taken to Gath.

There the Lord smote the people mightily and they hastily took it to Ekron and yet again the ark destroyed them and they cried out and the lords of the Philistines sent away the ark back to Israel.

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59 :1 – 2.

Child of God, if you want the ark to be potent in your life, stay connected to God by living a holy life, by staying away from sin, pursue righteousness and the ark will prove his potency in your life.

My Father, My Father, as I begin to pray, let your presence destroy every root of sin in me by fire.
