RHEMA FOR LIVING OFM, DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FROM THE DESK OF GOD’S SERVANT REV (DR) LIZZY JOHNSON SULEMAN.
TUESDAY, 28TH APRIL 2020.
BIBLE READING: ISAIAH 10-21.
TOPIC: THE ALTAR OF FEAR.
TEXT: “And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.” Judges 6:1-2.
Another altar that the enemy uses to limit the lives and destinies of believers is the altar of fear.
Fear is a killer. It kills faster than cancer. It is a destabilizer of destinies. It makes you doubt the word of prophecy. Fear makes you see God as a liar.
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he told Gideon that he that he was a mighty of valour (Judges 6:12), but because of fear he could do no positive thing in his life other than to hide behind the wine press. Fear turns a man of valour into a man of failure.
Fear makes you disqualify yourself. God has given a lot of promises to many of us but fear makes us doubt them. Fear and doubt are cousins. Fear makes you think you are not good enough. It makes you give excuses why you can’t be located and favored. When the angel told Gideon of God’s plan for him, Gideon gave the angel excuses why God can’t use him. To excuse yourself is to accuse yourself.
When fear is present and you submit to it, it dislocates you out of God’s plan, therefore resist the devil and he will flee from you.
PRAYER:
My Father, My Father, as I begin to pray, I overcome every altar of fear by fire.
