TOPIC: WHERE IS YOUR FIRST LOVE ? (PART 3).
TEXT: “I know thy works, and thy labour… and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and has not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” Revelation 2:1-4.
Many believers are ashamed to talk about Jesus in their offices today. Yes, you do not get involved in evil, you do not fornicate, you attend every church service, pray well, sing melodiously in the choir, hold on in times of trials and temptation, but when last did you speak to someone about Jesus?
When you first gave your life to Jesus Christ, remember how you could not stay in the midst of unbelievers without professing Jesus? As a newly engaged lady goes about telling her friends and relatives of her upcoming wedding, so you went around proudly telling people about Jesus and the marriage banquet on the day when He would return, but today, that is in your past.
The Lord is therefore asking today, where is your first love? He said in John 14:23a; “If a man loves me, he will keep my words; and he gave us His words in Matthew 28:19 before His ascension; “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit”.
If you have lost your first love, there is room for repentance. The Lord is willing to restore you. Arise and proclaim Jesus to the world from today.
PRAYER:
My Father, My Father, as I pray now, let my first love be restored by fire.
