RHEMA FOR LIVING, OFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE LIZZY JOHNSON SULEMAN – SATURDAY MAY 2ND, 2020 THE SPIRIT OF THE BATTLE.

RHEMA FOR LIVING, OFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FROM THE DESK OF GOD’S ANOINTED SERVANT.
THE DYNAMIC MOTHER.
REV. (DR.) LIZZY JOHNSON SULEMAN.
TODAY SATURDAY MAY 2ND, 2020.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalms. 4 – 6.
TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF THE BATTLE.
TEXT: “Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight. And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.”
1 Samuel 4 :9 – 10.
Life is spiritual and the battles of life are battles of spirit.
Therefore to live life casually fighting as a carnal man in the arm of flesh is to become a casualty.
As the redeemed of the Lord, you are a higher spirit operating from above, from heaven and have the advantage, over other spirits fighting against you.
But when you lose consciousness of who you are and where you are fighting from or you are disconnected from the source of your dominion and victory due to iniquity, you become a prey to the lesser spirit fighting you.
In the scenario of our text, which would be explained from verse one (1) of chapter four (4,) the Israelites, the people of God were defeated by the Philistines and the elders of Israel went and fetched the Ark of the convenant of the Lord into their midst to save them.
When the ark came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout. The noise of the shout made the Philistines afraid when they knew the ark has come into the camp and they began to lament their defeat recalling how God plagued the Egyptians.
However, they encouraged themselves fully determined to quit like men and fight as spirits, then they defeated Israel. Why?
Israel was disconnected from their source of help due to iniquity and instead of dealing with the root by repenting, they came in the arm of the flesh, shifting all responsibility to the ark.
But when the glory is absent from God’s people due to sin, the ark is silent.
PRAYER.
My Father, my father, as I pray now, I declare I will no more lose in the battle of life
