BIBLE READING: 2 CHRONICLES 4-6.
TOPIC: WATCH THAT COMPANY (PART 2).
TEXT: “And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, Saul’s sons.” 1 Samuel 31:2.
When you keep the wrong company, whatever befalls them befalls you. There are many that have lost their lives because they were in a company of those programmed to die. That was what happened to Jonathan, the son of king Saul, who did not take after the wrong footsteps of his father. However, he lost his life because he accompanied his father Saul to a battle against the Philistines which was doomed for failure die to evil acts of his father.
As a child of God, you must be discreet in making friends. Your friends should be someone who is born again and agrees with the principles that governs your life. How can you be moving with someone who is rebellious to leadership. How can you be friends with someone who does not believe in prayer and fasting, someone who is hasten in getting reward for all he does, someone who gossip people but when she sees them she laughs with them pretentiously? Listen, if any of such are your friends, cut off from them now otherwise when judgment comes both the horse and the rider it would drown into the sea. You will not be spared.
Ahithophel ordinarily was not a bad person, he had been David’s son counselor for quite a time and he was a very wise counselor, but his downfall started when he joined a wrong company. 2Samuel 15:12. He ended hanging himself because his counsel which was highly celebrated was rejected when he joined forces with Absalom (2 Samuel 17:23).
Child of God, if you want to arrive to your destiny gloriously, watch that company.

My Father, My Father, as I begin to pray, evey wrong company in my life, be disconnected by fire.
