TOPIC: WAITING ON YOUR MASTER?
TEXT: “Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured… Proverbs 27 :18.
The craze for quick arrival in life has made many not to patiently serve their masters so they can be honoured in due season.
Many subscribe to shortcut in arriving at what they tag as ‘Success’ but unknown to them there are serious repercussions to such actions.
Even if you are the master to others in life, in the faith, we all have a common master in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Are you waiting patiently on Him, serving Him devotedly?
Listen, on one in the scripture and even in our contemporary times who is known for service to God that was not honoured in due season. Therefore, as believers serving in various categories in various fields of endeavours with masters placed over us, let us learn to serve.
Look beyond the person of your master, he or she may have short comings, after all, they are humans. You are not there for his person but to serve.
Focus on the very purpose of which God placed you under him and serve him just as Elisha did when serving Elijah and he was rewarded.
Despite all the attitude of Saul, David understood he was his master and the Lord’s anointed.
He (David), behaved himself wisely (1 Samuel 18 :5, 14 & 15) and kept serving on until when necessary to leave the palace and in due season God honoured him.
Humility is required in waiting on your master, before honour is humility (Prov. 15 :33; Prov. 22 :4).
Receive Grace to be humble for service.

My Father, My Father, as I begin to pray, I receive fresh grace for service in Jesus name.
