An American long-distance runner Cole Hocker, has dedicated his gold medalist at the Paris Olympics 2024, to God, after his stunning performance.

The runner who finished in a personal best and Olympic record time of 3 minutes, 27.65 seconds, attributed his triumph to God.

As the race began, every eye was set on the favorites and close rivals. The defending Olympic champion Ingebrigtsen and 2023 world champion Kerr. This motivated Hocker to push beyond himself and depend on the strength of God.

The runner however overshadowed the favorites by winning gold, as Kerr took home the silver medal, while fellow American Yared Nuguse earned the bronze.

“I just saw, obviously, Kerr and Ingebrigtsen just battling, kind of having their own battle. And I knew that in my head, that they were so focused on each other,” Hocker said.

Reflecting on his victory, Hocker expressed a profound sense of gratitude as he revealed “It felt like I was being carried by the energy of the stadium and God.

“My mind was focused, and my body followed through with the strength and determination I had.”

“I just feel God has given me the gift of running, and my job is to give it my best.

“On top of that, because I’ve been given that, I want to take advantage of it. And it’s more gratifying because of how hard I have worked,” Cole Hocker said as he dedicates gold to God.
