[NEWS] PST. GIDEON ODOMA ; BUHARI IS MORE OF AN ACCOMPLICE THAN AN INCOMPETENT LEADER

Popular Bible Teacher and Author, Gideon Odoma has reacted vigorously to comments by Major General Buhari ( retd .) that it is not true that Boko Haram insurgency has claimed the lives of more Christians than Muslims but
the contrary was the case , insisting that “90 per cent” of deaths from attacks by the terrorists were Muslims .

The Respected Teacher, responded on his facebook page, that Buhari is being disingenuous and dishing out half-truths. Yes, generally speaking, nobody feels safe, but there is no doubting the fact that Christians living in the North have a lot more to worry about than any group of people in Nigeria, at this moment.

The enemy clearly wants to test the resolve of Christians and/or weaken their faith. But it seems Buhari wants to aggravate the situation by revising the narrative to make light of the plight of Christians in (northern) Nigeria.
The church and all people of goodwill must continue to put this President and his government under pressure to either resign or sit up. Personally however, I think he will do neither. I believe Buhari is more of an accomplice than an incompetent leader. I have reluctantly come to accept that he is not interested in ending terrorism and the genocide going on in the land. See it this way, how can a retired General (who has fought wars, led military offensives) be TRULY this impotent in dealing with this level of insecurity – in the same country he has lived and soldiered all his life? Has his background in military strategy/combat made any difference in the so-called battle against terrorism? Not in any way that I can see.
The thought that my country may right now be ruled by an enabler of ‘violence-against-citizens’ is scary… it is as painful as the actual atrocities going on almost everywhere in the north. The news coming out of Kaduna, Plateau, Adamawa and co are not a true reflection of things. Things are much worse. There is gross under-reportage of the scale of wickedness being emptied upon our land. Journalists are either scared or cautious – they are not reporting even half of the gory events in the north.
While we mourn all our brothers and sisters whom Nigeria has failed, may we never succumb to the plot of those who try to manipulate and blackmail us into resigned silence. As a people, and especially as the church in Nigeria, we must engage prayer and pressure.
We must pray, and we must put Buhari and his government under pressure to either live up to their duties or (dis)honourably resign. After-all, when he was aspiring to be President, he did ask Jonathan to resign due to what was termed: rising level of insecurity in the country. Nigeria is right now under siege and the President has failed both to convincingly deal with the situation and to inspire hope that he is ready and capable of dealing with the evil. Should he not just resign?
