Mary Boye opens up on Tope Alabi’s Song Saga

We don’t expect our spiritual leaders to be superhumans because they can’t be, no matter how much they try. They are like everyone else; it’s just the election of grace and mandate (assignment) that may be different. And maybe age, if they are older. So if any of them makes mistakes, we wouldn’t be disappointed; they are humans.

But anyone, being a church head, minister of the Gospel, preacher, or a Pope, is called out for an obvious mistake, it will be honorable to apologize, and we all move on.

For no reason should any leader take people for granted by showing a nonchalant attitude towards a MINOR BUT SENSITIVE case.

Aunty Tope Alabi shouldn’t go silent over this particular case. While she’s confident that none of her followers has the power to fault the grace of God on her, she should never forget that leaders aren’t supposed to mislead as well. We are children of the Kingdom; our character and manner of approach must depict the indwelling of God’s Spirit in us.

I suggest that auntie Tope apologizes and further elucidate her perspective. She has a point that may be salient; GOD IS BEYOND THAT DESCRIPTION given by Minister Adeyinka, and that’s true. But her further explanation appears damaging, in my opinion.

That said, and to us, the Christians out there throwing disrespectful words at the woman, that’s not the right way to say the right thing. Two wrongs can never make a right. We all should subject ourselves to God, lead an exemplary life of total obedience, and honor all men.

I pray that our leaders that have started well shall all end well. For the end is better.

Stay focused, for the coming of the Lord is nearer than ever.
