Dear Reader,

Welcome to the concluding part of this series. In the first part, we have established that choice is an absolute responsibility of an individual, and everyone is responsible for the consequences of their choices. In this second part, I shall continue with the topic Making Right Choices.

Having established that God and the devil respect our choices, the question is, “How do I make the right choices in life?” Either in choosing a career, marriage partner or other areas of your life. One important factor that will help you in making the right choices in life is The Fear of God.

If you fear God, it will show in how you handle His matters and make the right choices based on the principles of the Scripture. Also, the fear of the Lord will help you flee from sin. Concerning Joseph, he had a choice to either lay with Potiphar’s wife or please God, and he made a wise choice because he had the fear of God in him (Genesis 39). He said: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God (Genesis 39:9). Your choice can either be right or wrong. Whichever one you choose, you must accept responsibility for the one made.

The fear of the Lord is the yardstick that qualifies you for God’s leading as to making the right choices. Knowledge on any relevant subject helps you make the right choices; knowledge is a product of wisdom, and wisdom is a function of the fear of the Lord. Scripture says: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments… (Psalm 111:10; see also Psalm 25:12). However, the fear of God is not a gift; it is a choice (Deuteronomy 30:19-20; Isaiah 11:2). The potential to fear God is in you the moment you encounter the Holy Ghost, but you must make the choice.

For the singles that are not married, the fear of God will help you maintain sexual fidelity. If you are in courtship, don’t forget that courtship is not the same as marriage. When you are in courtship, refuse to sell off to the devil. The Bible says: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4). Therefore, keep the marriage bed safe.

In case you have made mistakes in the past, don’t live with a sense of condemnation. The past is past; stop looking backwards. The Blood of Jesus will avail for you, and your past will never be used by God to judge your future.

Your ability to choose right begins with your salvation. This is the first and best choice you can make and every other choice will follow. If you are not born again, and you want to do so, say this prayer in faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.

Congratulations! You are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21). With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name! Please write or call to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com OR 08141320204 and 07026385437.
