MAKING RIGHT CHOICES (Part 1)

Dear Reader,

Welcome to this exciting month of June, where God will shed more light on every dark area of your life in Jesus’ name! This month, I shall be examining Making Right Choices.

Choice means to pick or decide between two or more possibilities. God has an equal destiny of greatness for all His children (Romans 8:28-30). Yet, our individual choices are what distinguishes one person from another. God predestinated you for glory, but your choice in life determines whether you will arrive at that predestination or not. No matter how long you live on earth, your years are broken down into months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. That means whatever your assignment may be on earth, you don’t have eternity to fulfil it; you have only a season. So, handle it well and maximise your days.

According to Zig Ziglar, “Every choice you make has an end result.” Whatever or wherever you are today is a product of the choices you made yesterday. Choices make a world of difference between success and failure, joy and sorrow, peace and chaos, life and death, etc., and we put this principle to work on a daily basis even as it relates to the issue of marriage, family, career and business.

Let us explore some of the fundamental truths about the power of choice:

We Live in a World of Choices. Whether you are male or female, single or married, widowed or divorced, life presents before you choices to make on a daily basis. We live in a world of choices, and you must understand there is power in your choice.You are a Creature of Choice. Just as God will not think for you, the same way He will not choose for you, God has given us the gift of choice. It is His wish that you choose life so you and your seed may live. The Word says: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19). This means that God will not choose for you. This principle works in every area of life. You are constantly faced with choices as regards who to marry, career, where to live, who to be friends with, etc., but your ability to make the right choices will determine the overall success of your life and destiny.God Respects Your Choice. God honours the choices you make. In Genesis, God brought all the animals and every creature to Adam, giving him the choice to name all of them because He honours the choice of man. The Bible says: And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof (Genesis 2:19). The power of choice has been given to you, so make the right choice.Even the Devil Respects Your Choice. The devil respects your choice, and he cannot reject the choices you make. For instance, when you gave your life to Jesus Christ, you automatically made your choice. You made a choice, and the devil could not say, “No! You cannot go yet.” You are washed in the Blood and have become a child of the Almighty God. In the same vein, when you make any choice today as regards any area of your life, the devil cannot resist your choice. Choices are powerful, and they are the gift of God. So, when you make the right choices in life, they affect every other area of your life.

Your ability to choose right begins with your salvation. This is the first and best choice you can make and every other choice will follow. If you are not born again, and you want to do so, say this prayer in faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.

Congratulations! You are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
