Kemi Oyedepo Speaks to Quarelsome Wives

Happy Friday beloved friends,

I trust your week has been productive.

Thanks be to Abba Father!

Do you know that a quarrelsome wife (or husband) is as annoying as constant dripping on a rainy day. Stopping her (or his) complaints is like trying to stop the wind or trying to hold something with greased hands (Pro. 27:15).

This is not a good trait to have, especially as a Christian. It’s not only ANNOYING, it steals the joy and harmony that should be evident in a godly home!

Contrary to popular belief, it’s possible to have a conversation without it degenerating to raising your voice, hurling insults, fault-finding, fighting or attacking each other.

It’s possible to handle differences peacefully with maturity (not about your age) and a whole lot of heavenly wisdom!

Apostle Paul rightly said that where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, you are carnal, no matter how spiritual you claim to be (1 Cor. 3:3).

If you have the spirit of arguing, check yourself, get to the root of the trait, and seek the help of the Holy Spirit to grow in the fruit of the Spirit. Strive to be a man/woman of peace!

You may say you have an argumentative spouse… well, it takes 2 or more people to argue so they cannot go there without your participation.

Some steps you could take, among others:

* Do your best to promote peace by remaining calm.

* Identify the root of the problem. Sometimes, arguments stem from miscommunication and misunderstanding.

* Refrain from any verbal or physical aggression to prevent escalation. You can’t control them but you can control yourself.

* Be prayerful. The Holy Spirit can give you the right words that can gain entrance into the heart of your spouse so you can walk in unity.

* Don’t give up; God can make all things anew in your home.

* Seek godly counsel if you need it.
Be assured of my prayers for you. Wishing you God’s best in your marriage and family life. Blessed weekend. Cheers!
