*Richest Black Woman in the World , Mrs Folorunsho Alakija Reveals How God made her successful
In an interview with Bishop T. D Jakes, these were her words:
I came from a background of Muslim parents and family. I was born into a family of 56 children, eight wives and I am child number eight. But I wasn’t deep in the Muslim religion.
My father and my mother built mosques, but I give glory to God that by the time they died I was able to lead them to Christ. I led my father to Christ few days before he died. My mom became a born again Christian a year and a half before she died.
I knew that the Lord had spoken to me years back, He said to me, “if you go into business, you will be greater than your father”. I had to focus on business ever since.
At age 66, I am not slowing down. In fact I am just starting because I’ve got work to do for the Lord. It is God that has brought me this far and I need to pay back. I am doing that in my own way and in ways that He has guided and spoken to me. That’s why I started looking after widows and orphans.
There came a time in my life when I said “Lord you’ve been doing so much for me, I need to know what I can do for you” and He dropped a scripture in my spirit, James 1:27 which talked about looking after orphans and widows and I started doing that with joy and gladness in my heart.
Being able to make a difference in the lives of those who felt they were outcast and being able to wipe away their tears, empowering them and sending their children to school gives me joy.
Some ingredients that have helped me, that I use in my day-to-day life in business, I’ve spelt out success.
S – Sacrificing daily to make a difference by going the extra mile.
U – Utilizing my time and my talent to make things work.
C – Consistently focus on my goals.
C – Credibility
E – Education (Educate yourself, retrain yourself, find out information, look for mentors).
S – Say no to those who would want to discourage you.
S – SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ALL OTHER THINGS WILL FOLLOW.
