Don’t despise your present state and the ‘blessings’ you have because they don’t look like another person’s or the way you think they should look. Good things come in all shapes and sizes. It is only when you trust that God’s plans for you are for good and not evil, and you look at your blessings with the eyes of gratitude that you actually see the treasure that may be hidden deep within what can sometimes look like trash.
The Bible (in Gen. 25: 29 – 34) talks about Esau and how he has no regard for his birthright, something that was intangible and he was willing to trade it for something tangible which his brother had.
While you are staring longingly at what someone else has, someone is staring longingly at you, wishing, wanting, and eagerly praying for something that you have.
Instead develop an eye to recognise your unique blessing, a heart to celebrate the awesome people and the great things in your life and cherish the moments, savour the journey, and most of all, always, ALWAYS have a word of thanks to God for what He has blessed you with.
