DO YOU KNOW THAT PASTOR W. F. KUMUYI OF DEEPER LIFE HAS BEEN ON FIRE FOR GOD SINCE 1964?

Anytime I see men like papa W.F Kumuyi, I always feel a burden in my heart. It’s a burden that has often compelled me to cry out to God in desperation with just one prayer point – “Oh Lord, May my FIRE not quench!”

Now let’s do a quick preview on this man’s life…

He became born again in the year 1964 (that’s about 54 years ago). At that time he was just 23 years old. Right from that moment he caught a FIRE that transcended several decades producing undeniable IMPACTS and PROOFS even till this day.

In the year 1978 (51 years ago), he started a non-denominational bible study fellowship in his house which later metamorphosed into the reputable Deeper Life Christian Church known worldwide today.

After so many years, papa Kumuyi is still very much relevant and highly sought after in this generation. The IMPACT has not dwindled, the FIRE has not quenched, the ZEAL has not reduced and the UNCTION has not dissipated.

Brothers and Sisters this is the kind of FIRE I want to contact – a fire that will keep a man burning for decades and still make him relevant to his generation. I am not talking about the ‘kerosene’ and ‘fuel’ kind of fire that will burn like an inferno today and there will be no trace of it the next day.

I am talking of the kind of fire that will STAND THE TEST OF TIME. I mean the kind of FIRE that will face the worst trials and temptation and will still be BURNING. The kind of FIRE that will face persecution, criticism and hardship and will still be BURNING.

Whilst men like papa Kumuyi are still RE-FIRING after so many years of burning for God, so many young men and women in my days are RETIRING, dwelling on past glory and celebrating past achievements. God forbid!

I refuse to narrate the tales of past exploits for God, while the fathers of faith in our midst are still pressing hard towards the mark for the prize of the high calling. I refuse to become HISTORY in my days, while fathers like papa Kumuyi are basking in the waves of fresh GLORY.

I keep telling myself that it’s too early to be complaining of prayerlessness. It’s too early to be complaining of loss of appetite for the word of God. It’s too early to become a ‘push and start’ Christian. It’s too early to be rising and falling into a particular sin. Oh God, give me FIRE!

What I celebrate in men is LONGEVITY. When I see a man that has kept the oil fresh and the FIRE blazing after several decades, I don’t just celebrate him but I study him. I don’t know about you but as for me, I don’t want my fire to quench and my strength to FAIL while in the middle of my road. I want to BURN till Jesus Come.

Fellow youths, the journey ahead is far greater than the miles we’ve covered so far, if we don’t BURN now, we may never BURN till eternity. Let’s declare WAR against whatever wants to reduce and diminish our FIRE.

If it’s a besetting sin, pray until it loses hold over your soul. If it’s a relationship, CUT OFF! Whatever you can identify that has reduced your spiritual potency, disconnect from it with great aggression.

If there is any time to pay the PRICE, it is NOW!

We will not FAIL this generation. We will not end our Journey half way. We will learn the secrets of preserving and increasing the FIRE through the teachings of the fathers of faith. And we shall stay BURNING till Jesus comes.
