Praise the Lord, I’m Imeobong Ossom and I work in Lagos state, Nigeria as a nurse.
On the 3rd of April 2020, a patient was admitted into the hospital where I work. We nursed the patient for about 10 days unaware that he was positive to COVID-19.
Due to the symptoms exhibited by the patient, we asked the management that they should please run a COVID-19 test for the patient. The test was done and the results came out positive.
The NCDC asked all who had primary contact with the patient to be tested and I was among them. On the 19th of April 2020, I got a call from NCDC confirming that I was positive for COVID-19. I rejected it, that I demand a re-run of the test on me. They said they were coming to take me to the isolation centre.
I immediately called Pastor Samson Michael, the resident pastor at the branch of Salvation Ministries in Lagos where I worship. He gave me some scriptures to read, asked that I prepare the Communion, prayed with me and asked me to go for a re-run of the test, that it is going to be negative.
On the 20th of April 2020, they came to pick me to the isolation centre and I followed them. In the isolation centre, I asked for a re-run of the test and I was assured that it would be done.
While at the isolation centre, I took Communion daily and engaged in WOLBI (Word of Life Bible Institute) online. On the 22nd, 25th and 28th April 2020, 3 samples were taken respectively; I was told the criteria for discharge was to test negative twice with two different samples.
On the 29th of April 2020, I was called and informed that I was due for discharge. I am here to return glory to the Almighty God, Hallelujah.
