Dante Bowe Faces Criticism For Pushing Limits Of Gospel With Provocative Music Video

– Dante Bowe Criticized By Fans For Provocative Music Video

Grammy award-winning artiste, Dante Bowe has faced criticism from fans over his new music video showing women in bikini twerking.

The gospel artiste who recently returned to music after his split with Maverick City faces yet another battle from fans for his new music video.

The song “Wind Me Up”, which is included in his self-titled new album and features Jamaican DJ and Raggae artiste Anthony B, was released a few weeks ago, and was greeted with concern from fans, as some said he went out of boundaries in the music video.

Speaking on his new album, Bowe said;

“This project represents my creative evolution and a bold step towards pushing boundaries,” Bowe said.

“Through soulful melodies, infectious beats, and deeply-rooted lyrics, I’ve crafted a sonic journey that bridges the gap between different musical worlds.”

The music video “Wind Me Up” begins with Bowe at a beachside photoshoot. Then, he’s on a yacht, drinking and dancing with scantily clad women. The video progresses into a nighttime party scene on the beach where the drinking and dancing continued. While many of the dance moves are benign, some women are twerking, and Bowe repeatedly holds the front of his pants.

Posting the video via his Instagram page, he said; “Shout out to all inspiring the world with your passion and art. What song on my album needs a music video next? What’s you favorite song?”

While some fans commented with praise and that they were praying for the rising artist, many more spirited posts included strong warnings and criticism.

“This is overly sexualized and sensual for someone who screams that everything they do is in Jesus name,” one person wrote. “If you don’t find an issue with this you’re either Lukewarm or don’t have discernment. The dancer could have easily not had their breast on full display and not twerking in the camera let’s be so real right now. God bless him and I pray he has a true transformation in Christ.”

“The track is fire but the visuals are distracting,” another person wrote. “I had to do a double go back and remind myself that I saw you leading Praise and Worship at church. I wish our sisters were so not exposed, and grinding.”
