He was born on January 28, 1986, in the Gonge Area of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. Throughout his life, Dr. Akintayo has achieved remarkable success in various fields and has become a prominent figure in the business and philanthropic communities.
Early Life and Education:
Stephen Akintayo’s educational journey began at Baptist Primary School in Maiduguri, where he received his early education. He later graduated from Government Secondary School in Jebba, Kwara State. His passion for education and entrepreneurship led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Entrepreneurship Journey
Dr. Akintayo’s entrepreneurial spirit began to shine during his college years. While still in his fifth year of university, he initiated a Student Trade Fair on his campus, showcasing his early interest in business ventures.
At the age of 17, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by selling eBooks, demonstrating his early acumen for digital products and marketing. Subsequently, he ventured into selling GNLD supplements, a business opportunity introduced to him by his cousin.
One of his most significant achievements in the business world was the establishment of Gilead Balm Group in 2008, specializing in Bulk SMS services. This venture aimed to assist clients in reaching a vast nationwide database of contact information.
Over the years, Gilead Balm Group has worked with prominent brands such as Chivita, Guaranty Trust Bank, MTN, PZ Cusson, and many others. Under Dr. Akintayo’s leadership, the company evolved into a multi-million dollar enterprise over a span of 12 years.

Dr. Stephen Akintayo is a member of the Institute of Strategic Management and holds professional membership in the Institute of Information Management, Lagos. His commitment to continuous learning led him to study Digital Marketing Consultancy through the Digital Marketing Institute and Harvard University.

Philanthropy

He founded the Stephen Akintayo Foundation, initially known as Infinity Foundation, on September 5, 2008. The foundation’s primary mission is to provide free food, clothing, and essential items to the less privileged, with a particular focus on those residing in IDP Camps in Maiduguri and Dustbin Estate in Ajegunle.
