[ARTICLE] KENNETH HAGIN’S MINISTERIAL IMPACT & LOVE WALK

Two months ago, I decided to watch Kenneth E Hagin memorial service on YouTube during my free time at work. Truth be told, the impact of this man’s ministry is far reaching. So many ministers whom his ministry had impacted were present in the auditorium and the overflow to celebrate the life of this man of faith. A few of the ministers were given the opportunity to share their encounter with him while on earth.
I love the testimony of Willis Doc Horton and want to use it to draw out some lessons for you this morning.
Willis Doc Horton shared how he met Kenneth E Hagin in 1961 in New Mexico. He had just started the Full Gospel Business Men Ministry and needed someone to speak in one of his meetings. Somebody in his team came up with the name Kenneth E Hagin. According to him, he had never heard nor seen him before but some of his team members had.
He made this comment about Kenneth E Hagin’s ministration that day,
‘I have never heard the things he said before even though I have been a Pentecostal preacher since 1946. This faith business is just never going to work’
Obviously, Willis Doc Horton didn’t agree with what Kenneth E Hagin taught that evening even though everybody else seemed to have a good time at the meeting but years down the line they became the best of friends and during one of their light moments, Kenneth E Hagin said this,
‘I knew from day one how you felt. I knew you will come around after a while and see the light’
Kenneth E Hagin had the ability to see and believe the best in everyone. He wouldn’t care what they do or how they acted. He would never react to them the same way.
That was the first testimony of Willis Doc Horton about Kenneth E Hagin, the man whom he described as his closest friend while on earth.
Do you make enemies out of everyone who disagree with you on your teachings or doctrinal matters or do you like Kenneth E Hagin, believe they will come around and see the light while you believe the best in them?
Willis Doc Horton would later serve as an instructor at Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK, and remained closely associated with Kenneth Hagin Ministries until the end of his life.
When asked ‘What was Kenneth Hagin’s greatest attribute?” His son’s (Kenneth Hagin Jr) said “His love walk!”
He said and I quote in his tribute for his Dad,
‘ If you had the opportunity to attend Dad’s memorial service or to view it on the Internet,
I’m sure you noticed that every person who spoke that day said that they never heard Kenneth Hagin say a bad word about anyone! Never! If Dad couldn’t say something good about a person, he wouldn’t say anything at all. I never heard him criticize or bad-mouth anyone in my entire 64 years on this planet!
At times, my mother would get frustrated and say to him, “Honey, just tell the truth about them.” But Dad would say, “They may have repented and everything may be all right now. I don’t want to be the one to speak a question mark or a black mark on their life.”
That was Kenneth E. Hagin!
You should live like that especially if You claim You follow him and You are always dropping his name in Your messages and conversations with men.
