BIBLE READING: MORNING: PROVERBS 25,26,27, EVENING: 2 CORINTHIANS 6.
TOPIC: GIFTED! NOT STRANDED!
TEXT: “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16.
A gifted man is not a stranded man if he knows his worth and willing to maximize it to the glory of God. He may be a servant today, but that is a master tomorrow. He may be an employee today, don’t look down on him, that is an employer of labour tomorrow. Learn to value and appreciate people’s gift and celebrate the grace of God upon them. Everyone has his uniqueness, there is a special touch of divinity on individuals to stand them out of the crowd where God has empowered them to be. Don’t frustrate the gift of a man because you have the platform today. Allow people to express themselves and grow to perfection. A gifted man is not a stranded man, with the grace of God upon him, his gift will make the desert a fruitful land.
Saul was not sensitive to keep David, a gifted and talented young man in the palace; that would have meant more victories for him. The fact that the battles were won during his reign would have been honour for him, but he chose to listen to external voices judged David differently thereby becoming an enemy to the man who would have lifted up his reign on the throne. You may say such vacuum will be filled shortly. That is true, but there are counsellors and there are Ahitophels, there are Elisha(s) and there are Gehazi(s), there are Reubens and there are Josephs, there are Abel’s and there are Cains, there are Joshua’s and there are Achans, there are good and faithful men, Philips, Stephens, Barnabas, Silas, Aquila and Priscilla, Tychicus, Epuphroditus, Epaphras, Onesimus etc. and there are Alexander the coppersmith who do people much evil and Demas who eventually forsakes you.
May the Lord to whom everything is naked and bare guard your discretion.

Father, as I begin to pray, guide my dealings with men.
